“That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. – John 17:21

Our Partnership with The Y!

YMCA History:
The YMCA, or Young Men’s Christian Association, was established in 1844 by George Williams in England with the mission of providing safe accommodations for young Christians, aiming to share the gospel and discipling them. Today, local YMCAs focus on holistic development—Body, Soul, and Mind—by offering athletic facilities, skill-building classes, promoting Christian values, and engaging in humanitarian efforts.

We have joined forces with the YMCA, united by a shared commitment to serve the community. Both organizations prioritize healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility, making this partnership a natural fit.

We have formalized our collaboration through a partnership agreement that outlines our shared goals, roles, and responsibilities. This agreement serves as a framework for our cooperative efforts to support community initiatives and programs.

Here are some of the initiatives we will undertake together:

Community Events: We will organize joint community events, such as fairs, family days, and fests, allowing church members and YMCA staff to engage with the community and promote healthy living and spiritual lifestyles.

Chaplaincy Services at YMCA Coppinger: We are here to serve and encourage our local community at YMCA Coppinger. Our chaplaincy services provide support, guidance, and a listening ear for anyone seeking spiritual encouragement, prayer, or a caring conversation. We aim to uplift individuals and families, helping them navigate life’s challenges with hope and compassion.

Volunteer Opportunities: Our church members will have the opportunity to volunteer in YMCA

Youth Programs: We will develop tailored programs for youth in our community, including leadership training, mentorship opportunities, and spiritual development initiatives, utilizing YMCA facilities and resources.

Outreach Initiatives: Together, we will identify community needs and create outreach initiatives

Spiritual Support: We will provide spiritual guidance and support to YMCA participants by hosting prayer groups, Bible studies, and counseling sessions at YMCA facilities.

Through our partnership, we aim to make a meaningful impact in the community by addressing holistic needs and fostering a spirit of collaboration and service.
