In America, God Gave Us Our Son Back

You’ve heard our story—how God called us to Houston and how we’ve lived a missionary life, moving from nation to nation over the past decades. But that’s only one side of the coin. The other side of our story is about our son!
One of our biggest challenges throughout our missionary journey has been helping our son adjust and thrive through the transitions, but God’s grace has carried us through.
During our time in Germany and Dubai, we encountered many challenges finding the right school for our son. Despite the best efforts, doors would gently close, and even homeschooling began to feel overwhelming. But when we arrived in the U.S., everything began to change. Hope was restored, and we finally felt supported, and embraced.
After we moved to America, our dear friend Diana helped us find In His Steps Academy in Pearland and secure an appointment.
That meeting changed everything. Not only they accepted him, more importantly, they gave him love. With the support of his teachers, Daniel thrived in a Christ-centered environment where he was encouraged to pray and believe in himself.
We truly believe God gave us our son back. He’s completely transformed.
Daniel now leads prayer in chapel and even invites other students to pray alongside him.
We’re beyond grateful to our Heavenly Father—for Daniel, for In His Steps Academy, for Mrs. Abby Ellis, and for the U.S. Christian school system that made space for our son. We still believe there are schools that follow God’s heart—and our family is living proof that He still makes a way.

What felt like years of closed doors, rejection, and uncertainty with our son Daniel has turned into a testimony of healing, hope, and restoration. Through the love of a small Christian school, In His Steps Academy, and the faithful guidance of his teacher, Mrs. Abby Ellis, Daniel not only found a place to belong—he found purpose.
If you’re facing a hard season as a parent, missionary, or simply walking through the unknown, be encouraged: God sees you. He’s working behind the scenes. Sometimes the breakthrough comes when you least expect it—and when it does, it’s more beautiful than you could imagine.
We’re here to say: God is faithful. He restores. He still writes redemptive stories—just like ours.
